Losses in Cyprus’ tourism sector have reached 20 percent so far this year because of instability in the Middle East, the head of the Cyprus Hotel Managers Association said.
Christos Angelides told the Cyprus News Agency he remains hopeful that last‑minute bookings in the coming months will help the sector recover, but warned that the losses already recorded “cannot be easily covered.”
Asked about bookings over the Kataklysmos holiday weekend, Angelides said there was some movement, but described it as temporary.
