French President Emmanuel Macron held successive calls with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and the leaders of Lebanon, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the autonomous Kurdish region of Iraq, as Paris steps up its diplomatic activity over the Middle East crisis.
France is preparing to send anti‑missile systems, anti‑drone systems and a frigate to Cyprus.
Macron informed Christodoulides that France will also dispatch a second frigate in the near future.
The German chancellor has also responded positively to Cyprus’ request for support.
