FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, urging an end to Israel’s strikes on Gaza to restore the ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Macron emphasized the importance of resuming efforts toward a two-state solution, which he described as the only path to lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.
He warned against forced displacement or annexation, stating such actions would undermine this goal.
Macron also reaffirmed France’s commitment to ensuring the release of hostages and safeguarding Israel’s security.
Additionally, he called on Israel to honor its ceasefire commitments in Lebanon, stressing the need for strengthened monitoring mechanisms and a complete Israeli withdrawal to restore Lebanon’s sovereignty.
