FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sparked a diplomatic clash with Israel after expressing a wish during a Ramadan celebration for “Allah to destroy Zionist Israel.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar condemned Erdogan’s statement, calling him a “dictator” and accusing him of anti-Semitism. Saar added that Erdogan poses a danger to the region and his own people, urging NATO members to recognize this threat.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry responded by labeling Saar’s remarks as “arrogant” and “baseless,” accusing Israeli leaders of attempting to cover up alleged crimes. The ministry also voiced concerns over Israel’s destabilizing activities in the region.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry reiterated its criticism of Erdogan, emphasizing his actions in Cyprus, Syria, and his stance toward the Jewish state. The statement claimed Erdogan’s true intentions have been exposed to the world.
