Police are investigating an attempted murder involving a 22‑year‑old Greek Cypriot man in Larnaca.
Larnaca CID chief Giorgos Chrysostomou said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. outside a nightclub. The suspect and the victim had argued inside the club before the confrontation moved outside.
Police said the suspect then struck the victim with his car, throwing him over the roof of the vehicle and onto the road.
The victim was taken to the hospital with superficial head abrasions and a knee injury. He was treated and discharged.
According to police, the victim is the former partner of the suspect’s girlfriend. The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court on Wednesday for a remand hearing.
