The US Department of Defense has begun planning to withdraw all troops from Syria, two defense officials tell NBC News.
According to sources, the Ministry of Defense plans to withdraw the troops within 1–3 months.
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States should not interfere in Syrian affairs.
“Syria is its own mess. They have enough mess there. They don’t need us getting involved in everything,” Trump said.
The United States has approximately 2,000 troops in Syria supporting the fight against the terrorist organization ISIS.
