FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Sirens sounded across Israel on Thursday morning following a new missile launch from Iran, prompting authorities to instruct citizens to remain in shelters until further notice.

The Israeli military reported that sirens were active across central, northern, and southern Israel, as well as in Jerusalem.

The Israeli Air Force is working to intercept incoming missiles, though officials acknowledged that the country’s defenses are not “airtight.”

According to several news agencies, explosions heard in Jerusalem around 7:10 a.m. were the loudest since the outbreak of the current Middle East conflict.

Initial reports indicate injuries and at least four rocket impact sites in central and southern Israel. Significant damage has been reported in affected areas.

Just after 7.55 am, the Times of Israel reported that: “Israelis have been cleared to leave shelters throughout the country following the latest destructive missile barrage.” The news site also reported that a  ballistic missile fired from Iran directly struck Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.
