North Korea has test-fired two newly developed air defense missiles, state media reported Sunday.
Leader Kim Jong-un was present during Saturday’s launch, which aimed to assess the combat capabilities of the new systems.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, the missiles demonstrated “superior combat performance” and are designed to counter aerial threats such as drones and cruise missiles.
The test comes amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula, with joint military exercises underway between South Korea and the United States.
