A team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is in Damascus to meet with the new Syrian leaders.
Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani met on Saturday with the OPCW delegation, led by its chief Fernando Arias.
Since the civil war broke out in 2011, there have been a number of chemical weapons attacks in Syria, including sarin and mustard gas.
