Over 445,000 Traffic Offences Recorded in Cyprus Since 2020

Authorities in Cyprus recorded a total of 445,976 traffic offences between 2020 and 2024, according to figures published by Fileleftheros newspaper.

Of these, 4,975 cases were referred to court.

Larnaca registered the highest number of violations, with 60,782 offences, followed by the Famagusta region with 39,414.

The most common infractions were mobile phone use while driving (37,619 cases) and failure to wear a seatbelt (37,174 cases).

Driving under the influence of drugs accounted for 4,975 offences during the same period.
