The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office has labeled the deaths of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, as “suspicious,” according to ABC News.
A search warrant states that the nature of their deaths warrants a thorough investigation.
Police do not believe there is a criminal connection to the deaths.
Santa Fe Fire Department officials found no signs of carbon monoxide or other poisoning, but they are considering the possibility that such gas may have been vented before emergency services arrived.
