Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church , is criticizing US President-elect Donald Trump’s large-scale deportation plans targeting immigrants.
The Pope said in an interview with Italian television that possible deportations of undocumented migrants would be a disaster.
Francis has also previously criticized Trump’s immigration speeches. He hosted Trump at the Vatican during his first term as president.
Trump has promised to carry out the largest deportations in the country’s history during his term.
