Nearly 100,000 pensioners in Cyprus receive monthly payments below €1,000, according to comments cited Monday by the newspaper Haravgi.
Evtihios Papamichail, secretary‑general of the pensioners’ association EKISI, said the lowest pensions start at €429 and rise to just under €1,000, levels he argued are eroding retirees’ quality of life.
He added that the association is ready to engage in dialogue aimed at securing solutions through pension reform.
