FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — Authorities in Cyprus have arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged abduction and trafficking of a 48-year-old Romanian woman in Paphos, police said Monday.

The case came to light following information shared by Romanian authorities, prompting a police investigation in Cyprus.

The woman was found Saturday outside Paphos International Airport, calling for help while accompanied by a 51-year-old Romanian man. According to her statement to police, she had been staying with the man at a hotel in Paphos since arriving in Cyprus, where she was not permitted to leave without his escort.

She further alleged that on two occasions, the man transported her to a specific location where she was forced to engage in sexual acts with clients in exchange for money.

Police said the 51-year-old man and a 79-year-old man were arrested under court warrants. On Sunday night, shortly before 10 p.m., a 44-year-old woman was also taken into custody. Authorities are continuing their search for a fourth suspect, a 44-year-old man who remains at large.
