The Bank of Russia said Friday it will lift restrictions on foreign currency transfers abroad for Russian citizens and non‑resident individuals from friendly countries beginning Dec. 8.
The central bank said the move was made “in view of the stable situation in the foreign exchange market,” ending limits that capped transfers at $10,000 per month through money transfer systems.
The restrictions were introduced in March 2022 as part of temporary capital control measures aimed at stabilizing financial markets.
