FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Cyprus Search and Rescue Coordination Center (AKKM) ended its search efforts to locate Piotr Mentel, a 35-year-old Polish tourist lost at sea off Polis.
Despite 72 hours of operations, he was not found.
The tourist reportedly rented a boat from Latchi and went diving. The boat was discovered adrift during the search.
Search teams, operating by sea, air, and land, scanned a 186-square-kilometer area. Resources included helicopters, drones, and personnel from RMMO, the Police Technological Development Unit, and the Civil Defense Organization.
The search concluded yesterday at 16:40, with authorities unable to locate Mentel.
