The recent frost in Cyprus has had a severe impact on agricultural products in various regions.
Politis reports that the frost caused extensive damage, especially to potatoes and vegetables in the Famagusta region, despite farmers’ efforts to protect their crops. The damage in some cases reached 100 percent.
Kokkinohorio village also experienced significant crop damage. The true extent of the damage will become clearer in the coming days. The Ministry of Agriculture is currently assessing the situation and working with farmers to protect their crops as much as possible.
Haravgi newspaper added that banana growers in the Paphos region are also facing considerable challenges due to the cold weather, with banana fields in Paphos villages suffering damage.
