A kiosk owner in Kato Paphos has been forced to pay €3,100 after officers uncovered a stash of unlicensed nicotine pouches on his premises.
The haul, 377 packets of various brands, was discovered during a joint raid involving YKAN Paphos, local police, the Pharmaceutical Services, Customs and the Intellectual Property and Illegal Betting Unit.
Customs officials said none of the pouches had the necessary import or sales permits.
The shopkeeper, who was not licensed to sell legal tobacco products, was arrested on suspicion of customs offences.
He avoided a full prosecution by settling out of court, handing over €3,100 and signing an agreement allowing the seized pouches to be destroyed.
