German carmaker Volkswagen has still not reached an agreement with unions after talks began on Monday. In the fall, the carmaker announced that several thousand full-time jobs would have to be cut .
The reason for the cuts is said to be increased production costs and competition from other electric car manufacturers.
Volkswagen is one of Germany’s largest employers, with around 300,000 employees.
