A 33-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday after driving with a blood alcohol level more than eight times the legal limit and causing a traffic accident.
The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the Nicosia–Limassol highway near Agios Tychonas, when the woman’s vehicle sideswiped a truck.
No injuries were reported, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.
A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol reading of 182 micrograms per liter, compared to the legal limit of 22. A subsequent test confirmed a level of 148 micrograms.
The driver was taken into custody.
