Syrian authorities said Wednesday they intercepted a shipment of weapons intended for smuggling into Lebanon.
The Interior Ministry said security forces carried out a raid in the border town of Serghaya, in the Zabadani area of rural Damascus, after monitoring suspects. The operation uncovered large quantities of RPG shells hidden in an organized manner.
Officials said the seized weapons were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action.
