FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Tesla plans to roll out its long-awaited robotaxi service in Austin on June 12, according to a Bloomberg report citing an unnamed source.
The launch date, discussed internally, could still change.
CEO Elon Musk has promised self-driving taxis for years, and Austin will be the first city to receive the initial fleet of ten vehicles.
If the rollout goes smoothly, Tesla aims to expand the service rapidly, with Los Angeles and San Francisco among the next targets.
Musk previously stated the service would begin by the end of June.
