Tesla’s Gigafactory in Shanghai has reached a major milestone, producing its 4 millionth vehicle, the company said Monday.
The plant, Tesla’s first gigafactory outside the United States, began construction in January 2019 and rolled out its first car in December of that year.
It took more than 30 months for the factory to reach its first million vehicles.
Production has since accelerated, with output rising from 3 million to 4 million in about 14 months, according to Tesla.
