Lithuania announced on Saturday that all of the Baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have now disconnected from the Russian power grid.
This means that the Baltic countries are no longer dependent on importing power from Russia.
The work to cut off power connections to Russia began when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
From Sunday onwards, the Baltic power grid will only be connected to the rest of the continent and the Nordic countries, via cables to Finland, Sweden and Poland.
