Japanese tech stocks fall after a Chinese AI model sent US tech stocks sharply lower on Monday.
In Tokyo, Nvidia supplier Advantest, which tests computer chips, was down 10 percent Tuesday morning after falling 8.6 percent the day before.
Softbank, which is part of a $500 billion artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure investment announced by US President Donald Trump last week, fell nearly 6 percent in Tokyo on Tuesday after falling 8.3 percent on Monday.
The broader Nikkei 225 index was down 1.62 percent an hour after trading began.
