Three men sentenced in separate drug‑trafficking cases in Limassol and Larnaca

Courts in Limassol and Larnaca on Tuesday handed prison sentences to three men aged 32, 31 and 26 in two separate drug‑trafficking cases, police said.

The Limassol Criminal Court sentenced a 32‑year‑old man to nine years in prison and a 26‑year‑old to three and a half years after officers seized about nine kilograms of cannabis, 52 grams of cocaine, 1,001 firecrackers and other pyrotechnics during an August 3, 2024 raid on the older suspect’s home.

The 32‑year‑old was arrested the same day, while the 26‑year‑old was detained on October 30, 2024.

Police said additional arrests were made in connection with the same case, including another 26‑year‑old on August 3 and two 30‑year‑olds on October 30. Two more suspects, aged 27 and 36, remain wanted.

In the second case, the Larnaca Criminal Court sentenced a 31‑year‑old man to six years in prison after customs officers found 1.072 kilograms of cannabis in his luggage upon his arrival from abroad at Larnaca airport on October 3, 2025.

A subsequent search of his home uncovered an additional 57 grams of cannabis resin.

Both cases were investigated by the drug squad units in Limassol and Larnaca.
