Tourist arrivals to Cyprus exceeded four million for the first time in 2024, recording a historic record of arrivals, compared to approximately 3,845,000 in 2023, marking a significant annual increase of 5.1%.
The previous record for arrivals was set in 2019 and was close to four million.
According to the Statistical Service, trips abroad by Cypriot residents in December recorded an increase of 9.3%.
The main countries from which Cypriot residents returned in December were Greece, the United Kingdom and Poland.
Earlier this month, a meeting with a delegation from Shanghai, China, undertaking a familiarization trip to Cyprus, led by the General Manager of the Athens-based Juneyao Airlines, Fumo Ji, was held by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis.
This is a familiarization trip planned as part of the efforts of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to open the Chinese market, as well as the many months of contacts with the airline Juneyao Airlines.
