Tourist arrivals to Cyprus slipped 1.7% in June

Tourist arrivals to Cyprus slipped 1.7% in June, falling to 489,965 from 498,527 a year earlier, the Statistical Service reports.

Arrivals for the first half of 2026 dropped 10.1% to 1.66 million.

The U.K. remained the largest market, supplying 33% of June visitors. Israel accounted for 16.4%, Poland 7.3%, Sweden 5.5% and Germany 4.4%. Most travelers — 81.6% — came for holidays.

Outbound trips by Cyprus residents rose 7.4% to 168,953.

Greece was the top destination, followed by the U.K., Italy and Poland.

Holiday travel made up 68.1% of resident trips; business accounted for 21.7%.

CYSTAT said the figures are based on its traveler survey at Larnaca and Paphos airports, supplemented by administrative data from ports and police statistics.
