FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan during a Monday press conference in Scotland, where he met with the British prime minister.
“I don’t like your mayor. He’s a nasty person,” Trump said when asked if he planned to visit London during his next official visit to the United Kingdom.
Khan, a member of the Labour Party, became London’s first Muslim mayor in 2016.
“I think he’s done a terrible job. But I’d love to visit London,” Trump added.
The remarks continue a history of sharp exchanges between the two politicians. Khan has repeatedly criticized Trump’s policies during both his current and previous presidential terms.
