Turkish security forces have detained 567 people in nationwide operations over the past 10 days targeting online child exploitation, illegal betting and financial fraud, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Monday.
In a post on social media platform X, Yerlikaya said 209 suspects had been formally arrested, while courts imposed judicial control measures on 112 others. Legal proceedings are ongoing for the remaining individuals.
The suspects face charges including possession and distribution of child abuse material, operating illegal gambling platforms, facilitating unlawful money transfers and unauthorized access to mobile banking accounts.
Yerlikaya added that some suspects used schemes such as fake loan offers, fraudulent investment advice, online product scams, visa application fraud and bogus car rental services to defraud citizens.
