Turkey has sent 81 disaster response specialists to the Gaza Strip, with some assigned to assist in the search for remaining hostages, Turkish authorities said Friday.
According to officials, 19 deceased hostages have yet to be recovered and returned to Israel.
Hamas has stated that locating the bodies may take time due to collapsed tunnels and widespread destruction across Gaza.
The Turkish rescue teams include personnel experienced in major disaster zones, including the February 2023 earthquake in southeastern Turkey that claimed more than 53,000 lives.
Their deployment to Gaza marks a continuation of Turkey’s international humanitarian efforts amid the ongoing crisis.
