The Secretary-General will host an informal meeting on the Cyprus issue with Cypriot leaders and guarantor powers—Greece, Turkey, and the United Kingdom—on March 17-18 at the United Nations offices in Geneva, spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced Wednesday during a press briefing at UN headquarters in New York.
“The United Nations remains committed to supporting the Cypriot leaders and all Cypriots,” Dujarric said, emphasizing that the meeting aligns with the Secretary-General’s Good Offices efforts and commitments made since October 15, 2024.
According to Dujarric, the meeting is intended to facilitate substantive discussions on the future direction of the Cyprus issue.
