A court operating under the de facto authorities in northern Nicosia is expected to deliver its verdict on Nov. 7 in the case of five Greek Cypriots accused of allegedly entering a restricted military zone.
The date was set following the conclusion of the hearing process, during which both sides presented their final arguments.
Defense attorneys for the five individuals have called for their acquittal, arguing that the area in question is not a designated military zone but a public space used daily by hundreds of civilians. The arrests have drawn criticism from Greek Cypriot officials, who view the charges as politically motivated.
