COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides underscored the importance of European Union initiatives such as Readiness 2030 and the SAFE Regulation during Wednesday’s informal European Council meeting in Copenhagen.
In a written statement from Press Office Director Viktor Papadopoulos, Christodoulides emphasized the role of these measures in strengthening Europe’s collective security.
Speaking during a session focused on defence and security, he condemned Russia’s recent violation of EU airspace and expressed solidarity with those affected.
Such actions, he warned, pose a threat to the overall safety of the Union.
