A 59‑year‑old man from Paphos who had been in police custody since March 11 died early Tuesday at Larnaca General Hospital, authorities said.
Panikos Kalaitzis died around 2:15 a.m. in the hospital’s cardiology ward, where he had been receiving treatment. He had been held to assist investigations into an alleged case of obtaining credit under false pretenses.
Police have not released further details.
