FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities in Cyprus have seized 1.5 tons of cannabis, 100 kilograms of cocaine, and thousands of ecstasy pills since 2023, according to police data.

Between 2023 and May 14, 2025, law enforcement investigated 2,568 drug-related cases involving 2,688 individuals.

Of those, 1,610 were Greek Cypriots, while 1,078 were foreign nationals.

In March it was reported that Larnaca Airport had emerged as a significant entry point for narcotics in Cyprus.

Reports noted that 194 kilograms of the 617 kilograms of cannabis seized last year entered through this airport.

Additionally, 3 kilograms of cocaine were confiscated.

Media highlighted an increase in both the quantity and variety of drugs intercepted compared to 2023.
