FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 45-year-old man was remanded in custody for eight days by the Limassol District Court following his arrest in connection with the discovery of more than nine kilograms of cocaine in the Episkopi area.
The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday after a surveillance operation by the drug squad, based on intelligence regarding suspected trafficking activity. When officers attempted to stop him, he allegedly reversed his vehicle deliberately, damaging a police car. He then tried to flee on foot but was quickly arrested.
Authorities found cocaine in his possession and later uncovered additional quantities in a second vehicle linked to the suspect. Investigators are continuing their search for accomplices believed to be involved in the case.
