Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un declared Thursday that the friendship between their two nations remains steadfast, regardless of global developments.
“The bond between China and North Korea cannot be changed, no matter how the international situation evolves,” the leaders said following their meeting in Beijing.
The summit, held at the Great Hall of the People, focused on strengthening strategic cooperation and safeguarding shared interests in both regional and international affairs. The talks came amid speculation over whether the meeting would take place, marking Kim’s first visit to China in six years.
The leaders emphasized their commitment to deepening bilateral ties, with Xi pledging to consolidate relations and Kim thanking China for its “long-term, unwavering support.”
