Cyprus’s Consumer Protection Service on Thursday urged shoppers to be cautious and well‑informed as holiday food purchases increase, stressing that consumer awareness is their strongest protection.
The agency highlighted the importance of monitoring prices and comparing products to secure the best value for household budgets.
It said the official e‑kalathi platform provides reliable, transparent price data to guide more economical choices.
With frequent price fluctuations ahead of Christmas, officials called on the public to trust e‑kalathi’s information and use it throughout the shopping process.
The service said it remains committed to safeguarding consumers and will not allow the tool’s credibility to be undermined.
“The information is power — and this holiday season, e‑kalathi is the most reliable ally of the consumer,” the statement said.
