45‑Year‑Old Arrested in Cyprus in Connection With Drug Seizure

Police have arrested a 45‑year‑old man in connection with a drug seizure linked to an attempted murder investigation dating back to December 2024.

The arrest follows forensic evidence obtained during the probe, authorities said. The drugs were discovered during a search of a 25‑year‑old man’s home in Limassol on 30 December 2024, as part of the investigation into an attempted murder committed the same day.

Officers seized 2.435 kilograms of cannabis, 940 grams of cannabis resin, 105 grams of cocaine, a live round of ammunition and €1,575 in cash along with $200.

The 45‑year‑old was detained on a court warrant and appeared before the Limassol District Court on Tuesday. The case has been referred to the Criminal Court, with the first hearing set for 23 March 2026. The court ordered his release on conditions, which he has not yet met, and he remains in custody.

Two other suspects — the 25‑year‑old resident and a 20‑year‑old woman — were arrested in January 2025. Their case is still before the court.

The Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) continues to investigate.
