Police carried out targeted overnight operations across Cyprus aimed at preventing serious crime and strengthening public safety, authorities said Thursday.
During the patrols, officers arrested two people: one in Limassol in connection with an investigation into threats and theft, and another in the Famagusta district in a domestic‑violence case.
Police said 227 vehicles were stopped and 297 occupants checked.
Officers also conducted 29 inspections of premises as part of efforts to curb criminal activity.
Traffic checks resulted in 64 citations, including 45 for speeding.
Ten additional traffic‑related offences are under investigation, and nine vehicles were seized.
Police said the coordinated operations will continue with increased patrols and targeted enforcement.
