Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos expressed Nicosia’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states during meetings in Riyadh and Manama, he said in a post on X.
Kombos wrote that his talks in Riyadh focused on the “deeply worrying” situation in the region and the strategic importance of Cyprus–Saudi Arabia relations. He said he conveyed Cyprus’ “steadfast support and solidarity” in light of what he described as unjustified and indiscriminate attacks against Riyadh and Cyprus’ partners in the Gulf.
De‑escalation through dialogue and effective diplomacy is essential to safeguarding regional peace and security, he added.
In Bahrain, Kombos reiterated Cyprus’ full support and solidarity in the face of similar attacks, while reaffirming the countries’ strategic cooperation.
