A 35‑year‑old man in Nicosia has been placed in eight‑day custody after police discovered 10 kilograms of opioid‑based narcotics.
Officers searching his home found 54 packages containing dried poppy pods from the papaver somniferum plant.
Police also determined that the suspect had been living illegally in the Republic since 2022.
