FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus has successfully created conditions for full employment within just two years, according to the Presidency. The latest figures show that unemployment dropped to 4.9% in 2024, the lowest rate since 2008, while employment soared to a record 79.8%.
This achievement is considered a significant boost for the economy and society.
The government credits these results to initiatives that better connect human resources with the labor market, promote vocational training, and support employment programs.
Economists are hailing this as a positive development, though they note that sustaining these gains will require continued effort and investment.
