FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A recent report by the Mediterranean Institute for Gender Studies (MIGS) has revealed alarming statistics about violence against women in Cyprus.
Over the past decade, 41 women have been murdered, and 36.1% have been victims of physical or sexual assault.
The report, covered by Haravgi and other newspapers, also highlighted that 44.5% of women in Cyprus have experienced violence at the hands of their spouses.
These figures underscore the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address and prevent gender-based violence in the region.
