Arab health ministers have called for urgent medical and humanitarian support for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, citing severe shortages of essential medicines, cancer and chronic‑disease treatments, and basic medical supplies.

In a resolution issued late Thursday at the close of their 63rd session in Tripoli, Libya, the Council of Arab Health Ministers urged immediate delivery of medicines, laboratory supplies, vaccines and medical equipment to Palestinian health facilities, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The council also called on Arab states to send specialized medical teams — particularly in surgery, intensive care and rehabilitation — and to help provide mobile clinics and expand field hospitals to compensate for facilities damaged or destroyed in Gaza.

Ministers further encouraged member states to support and fund the Palestinian government’s recently launched recovery and reconstruction program aimed at rebuilding the health system. They also urged financial and technical assistance to strengthen the ministry’s ability to meet urgent humanitarian and medical needs and maintain essential services.
