A 35‑year‑old British bare‑knuckle boxer, Callum Kerr, died during a June 21 flight from Larnaca to Manchester, according to reports in The Sun cited by Alithia.

Witnesses told the British newspaper that Kerr had consumed excessive alcohol before boarding and began arguing with his partner once on the aircraft. Cabin crew moved the woman for safety, and Kerr then allegedly attacked a man seated nearby.

A struggle broke out, and several passengers restrained Kerr on the cabin floor. The pilot requested an emergency landing at Manchester Airport.

Police who boarded the aircraft found Kerr unresponsive and not breathing. Manchester authorities have expanded their investigation and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

Passengers were kept on board to provide statements, the report said.
