Cyprus President Christodoulides has hailed the signing of two agreements for developing deposits in the Cypriot Aoz as a significant boost to Cyprus-Egypt cooperation in the energy sector.
Speaking to “Al Ahram,” Christodoulides emphasized that these deals will also contribute to the wider economic development of the Eastern Mediterranean.
On the Gaza conflict, Christodoulides highlighted the mutual commitment of Cyprus and Egypt to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians.
He stressed the importance of a political dialogue that aims for a two-state solution, which he believes is the only path to lasting peace and regional stability.
The President also expressed optimism about strengthening relations between Egypt and the European Union. He sees great potential for cooperation in energy, trade, and investment, which could benefit the broader region.
