Carnival events are reaching their peak today across all cities in Cyprus, with the highlight being the grand parade in Limassol.

Since yesterday morning, Limassol has been bustling with carnival activities and events, creating an intense festive atmosphere.

Today’s main parade will commence at 1:00 PM from the Agios Nikolaos intersection, ending at the Polemidia traffic lights.

Approximately 35,000 participants are expected to attend, with 127 groups taking part in the spectacular event.

The parade will be led by the Limassol Municipality Philharmonic, the Majorettes of the Cyprus Girl Guides Corps, the Singers, the Batukinio percussion group, and the Limassol Majorettes.

To manage the increased traffic, Archbishop Makarios III Avenue was closed from 9:00 AM, and special traffic regulations will be in place on the Nicosia-Limassol highway to avoid congestion. Drivers are urged to use detours and plan their trips in advance.
