FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Supreme Constitutional Court has struck down a law passed by Parliament requiring the installation of countdown timers at traffic lights equipped with photo enforcement devices, declaring the measure unconstitutional.
Lawmakers had argued the timers were necessary to indicate the remaining seconds before green signals turned amber and then red, enabling clearer visibility for drivers and more accurate enforcement.
